It has been revealed that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are not mutants but humans who were experimented on by the "High Evolutionary". The real parents of Pietro and Wanda are actually their original ones, Django and Marya Maximoff. The "High Evolutionary" took the twins from their parents, and once he decided they failed to meet his expectations he gave them back to their birth parents disguised as regular mutants.
